Are Wax Melts Safe To Burn Around Your Pets

Are Wax Melts Safe To Burn Around Pets?

As a small business it is our number one priority to ensure all our products are safe to use around your home and family.  Candles and wax melts are a great way to eliminate foul pet odours.

Burning candles and wax melts around children and animals is always going to be dangerous, especially if there is an open flame and hot wax in reach of small children and animals.

Animals have an incredible sense of smell and may be easily drawn to a burning candle.

The good news is that we only use soy wax in all of our wax melts and candles. Soy wax produces little or no airborne particulates, giving a clean, soot free burn. The fragrance oils that we use have been specifically designed and tested for the use in candle making.

So What are the risks?

Candles and diffusers can sometimes contain hazardous essential oils. There are many oils such as eucalyptus, tea tree, cinnamon, citrus, peppermint, pine, wintergreen, and ylang ylang which are toxic and can cause serious illness. Although a lot of essential oils used in candles are safe and have been expertly blended to meet safety standards. Every business selling candles and melts, should by law, have a safety label (CLP), detailing ingredients used, the correct hazard symbols and signal words.

Always be aware and cautious when you are purchasing candles, especially online, and don't be afraid to ask businesses if they are CLP compliant.
